For scheduling reasons we are forced to postpone the Users’ Day. New date will be announced shortly.

CESGA invites all users to a conference in which we intend to:

  • Make the user community aware of the resources currently available at CESGA and the latest developments in the infrastructure.
Present results, use cases, and relevant services that have benefited from the use of resources in HPC, Big Data, and AI of research groups.
Facilitate the meeting and exchange of experiences and knowledge to the members of the CESGA user community.
Generate a space to promote collaboration between user groups.

Date: To be confirmed

Time: From 09:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Place: University of Santiago de Compostela, Aula Magna of the Faculty of Mathematics. See how to get there.

Directed to: Research groups, companies, and administrations that are users or potential users of the supercomputing, big data, and artificial intelligence services and resources provided by CESGA.

Agenda: Pending publication.

We encourage all users to propose contributions!

How to propose contributions:

CESGA opens a period for the reception of poster proposals that show the lines of research carried out by users of FinisTerrae III and other CESGA infrastructures.

Topics of interest

All topics related to the use and exploitation of computing and data storage resources by the members of the user community are of interest.

The poster session seeks to give visibility and encourage debate around the work carried out by the user community members of the computational and data storage resources provided by CESGA.

Among the posters sent, if the organizers consider their contribution to be particularly relevant due to their scientific-technical interest, the researcher could also be invited to make an oral presentation during the day.

Contribution submission – a four-step process:

Step 1:

Submit your abstract. Deadline for receipt of abstracts: March 27, 2023.

Affiliation of the author(s)
Contact of the author/s
Abstract (maximum 300 words) mentioning the scientific-technical area, the hardware/software resources used, the techniques, the approach, and the main results obtained.
Keywords (maximum of 5)
Mode of financing the work, agency or program that finances the work.

Selection criteria

The submitted abstracts will undergo a selection process that will be carried out by CESGA’s scientific-technical staff. The key selection criteria will be clarity, relevance, representativeness of resource use areas, and computational methods used.

Step 2:

CESGA will communicate to authors about the acceptance of their proposal no later than March 31, 2023.

Step 3:

Submit your poster in .pdf format, vertical A0 size, if your abstract has been accepted. Deadline: April 28, 2023.

After the acceptance of the abstract, the participants will be invited to send the electronic file with their poster giving their consent to its publication on CESGA’s website.

The poster session is intended as a networking event. Participants must attend the session to share, inform and discuss the contents with other attendees.

The Posters may be in English, Galician, or Spanish and must contain at least the following information:

  • Title.
  • Keywords (maximum of 5).
  • Author/s information (name, affiliation, email).
  • Description of the work carried out and the resources required for it.
  • Funding agency or institution that provides financial support for the work described.

The posters must be made in vertical A0 format [1189mm (height) x 841mm (width)].

Submitting a poster implies giving express authorization to CESGA so that it may publish and disseminate the submitted poster through its website and through its profiles on social networks.

Step 4 (optional, but highly recommended):

Send us a promotional video of your poster in .mp4 format. Deadline: April 28, 2023.

We encourage all participants to submit a short video (maximum duration 2 minutes in .mp4 format) presenting their poster. Although optional, we strongly recommend sending a video presentation of the poster.

The poster and the video will be published through social networks and on the CESGA website as soon as the Workshop ends, giving the possibility of explaining your work to those interested who have not been able to attend in person and giving additional visibility to the participants in the poster session.

We will send you a document that you must return to us signed, prior to the conference, giving CESGA authorization to broadcast this audiovisual content.
