By the use of the qacct-i JOBID command, you obtains information on the resources used by your work.

Yes, you can.The quipments must be connected, and then you must execute the following commands:

As there are two computing systems available, how do I know which one I should use for my calculations?
FinisTerrae is used for those parallel computations that require a large number of processors (more than 24) or memory (more than 64GB of memory) or access to great quantities of information at high speeds.
The calculations made up of jobs that use up to 24 processors and less than 64GB of memory should use the SVG equipment.
Moreover, the availability of the applications on both platforms can be consulted.

¿What are the queues of the computing systems and how are they used?
The queues are access systems that order the different jobs (or programs) of the users to the resources of a server. They permit that the resources can be shared equally between all users and they prevent the overloading of a server that attempts to execute all jobs in one go. When there are more jobs in the queue than avaliable resources in the server, a determined number of the same may go into execution while the rest must wait until the resources become availiable. In this last case, it is said that the job is queued. In general, there are different queues depending on the quantity of recourses available, prioritising those queues that require fewer resources (throught a large number of jobs being executed simultaneously or throught a higher priority at the moment of sending the jobs for processing). When the resources of a job are above certain CPU and memory limits, (more than 15 minutes and more than 256MB of memory ), queues should be used to process the application and thereby limit oneself to interactive utilisation for maintainance tasks and code debugging. My work has finished with the message SIGXCPU or CPU Time Limit Exceeded,  What is it due to?
Due to the fact that you did not request sufficient time of processing with the option s_rt of the qsub, you should increase this quantity.

How can I edit text files in the supercomputers?

Can I copy the files of the SCRATCH directory to my HOME directory ?
Yes. Use the command:
cp -R $TMPDIR/* $HOME/Directory_allocate

Can I carry out jobs requesting more resources than the ones that are predefined as the limit of the queue system?
Yes. Using the request form for special resources, one can request access to more resources.

Can I change my user password?
Yes. Use the command, passwd.

How can I have access to the computing and storage equipment of CESGA?
To be able to use the computing and storage services of CESGA, it is necessary to have an access account  that consists of a login (identifier) and password (password).
