On 9 and 10 November, the QUANTUM_IBER_IA project will bring together researchers, technology experts and business representatives to share knowledge and explore practical applications of quantum computing, quantum communications and AI.

Quantum_Iber_IA International Conference 2026, an international event that will take place on 9 and 10 November in Santiago de Compostela, at the headquarters of the Fundación Empresa-Universidad Gallega (FEUGA). The conference will bring together people from the research, technology and business sectors to exchange knowledge, present recent developments and discuss real use cases in quantum technologies and artificial intelligence.

The conference is part of the QUANTUM_IBER_IA project, which aims to position the POCTEP area as a benchmark in the development and application of advanced technologies through the strategic integration of quantum technologies (computing, communications and simulation) and artificial intelligence. The project promotes the shared and coordinated use of existing infrastructures, such as supercomputers, quantum networks and AI platforms, with particular attention to key sectors such as agri-food, health, cybersecurity, energy and the environment. It also works to create a hybrid quantum+AI innovation ecosystem that connects research centres, universities, public administrations and companies, fostering cross-border cooperation and the attraction and retention of talent.

The programme will include two invited talks:

Eneko Agirre, Director of the HiTZ Centre for Language Technology (Ixa Group), will open the first day.
Enrique Sánchez Bautista, Head of the Brussels Office of the Quantum Community Network of the EU Quantum Flagship initiative, will open the second.

In between, the technical sessions will address artificial intelligence, the intersection of quantum computing and AI (Quantum+IA), quantum computing and quantum communications, as well as other topics. Poster sessions will also be held during the breaks.
