On Friday, 12 June, CESGA will organize an event to present the results of the upgrade project of the computing and data node. The work carried out over the past year will result in a renewed infrastructure that will significantly enhance the capabilities we offer to our user community.
This project involves upgrading the computing facilities, data storage systems and developments associated with quantum technology, whilst ensuring the energy efficiency and sustainability of the new facility, which will feature upgraded cooling and power supply systems.
– A new supercomputer, the FinisTerrae IV.
– Two quantum computing units manufactured by the Finnish company IQM Quantum Computers: a 54-qubit superconducting Radiance model and a 5-qubit Spark model for training and algorithm testing.
Details for the event
– Date: Friday 12 June.
– Time: 11.30 am to 2.00 pm.
– Venue: Auditorium 1, CINC Building, Cidade da Cultura.
Programme
Here is the detailed programme for the event to present CESGA’s new infrastructures, which will be attended by representatives from the public institutions involved. We will also be holding two panel discussions around the value of these major scientific infrastructure for the European research ecosystem and for the regions in which they are located. We will close the event in a more informal setting where we can mingle while enjoying some refreshments and snacks.
