On January 21, a group of students from the 8th Course in Management and Leadership of STIC and Information Security (Master’s Degree in ICT Management for Defense | DIRETIC) visited CESGA, an encounter that has already become a tradition and gives us the opportunity to showcase the supercomputing and quantum computing capabilities of our Center.
The group had the opportunity to tour the data center and learn firsthand about the infrastructure and operation of FinisTerrae III and QMIO, as well as receive training focused on technical aspects such as fiber optic network deployment, computing, encryption, and quantum communications, delivered by our colleagues Juan Villasuso, Senior Communications Technician, and Irais Bautista, Project Coordinator for Quantum Spain. The visit also included an overview of the new capabilities that CESGA will have following the technological upgrade of its computing and data node, a process that will bring a new generation of supercomputer (FinisTerrae IV) and two new quantum computers.
At CESGA, we would like to thank the faculty of the DIRETIC Master’s program for their interest in showing their students the work carried out by our center in promoting secure communications and the infrastructure deployed to contribute to improving the defense, security, and sovereignty of the most sensitive data.
