CloudPYME2 – CloudPYME2: Mejorando la competitividad de las PYMEs a través de la innovación apoyada en herramientas TIC y Cloud.
Period: 2013-07-01 – 2015-10-30 (24 months).
Funded by: Comisión Europea
The project aims to create an infrastructure to support innovation in small and medium enterprises (SME). Providing SME access to High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities in an attempt to improve their international competitiveness in line with European Commission recommendations.
Encouraging the implementation of Product Lifecicle Management (PLM) tools and techniques, seeking to improve efficiency in new product development. Boosting the use of Open Innovation platforms, the project aspires to involve SME in the move toward constant innovation.
Numerical simulation is an essential tool for business competitiveness, facilitating the generation of new, robust, and high quality products, cutting development costs for the SME. Usually, enterprises that already use numerical simulation techniques employ their own infrastructure, blocking it for other necessary tasks or limiting the number of trials or tests they are able to perform. This cloud platform eliminates these drawbacks, and also opens the possibility of using numerical simulation to companies that have not made use of these techniques up to now in their innovation processes, thus increasing their competitiveness.
The Project is funded by the European Commission through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the thrid call for proposals of the Spain – Portugal 2007-2013 Operational Programme for Cross-border Cooperation ( POPTEC ).
