In various areas of science and engineering is necessary to solve problems of high computational cost. To this end, researchers use parallel systems that, increasingly, have a heterogeneous structure, and which are difficult to program and use efficiently. Examples of these systems are heterogeneous computer networks, multi-core processors and GPUs.

CAPAP-H network (TIN2007-29664-E) has allowed the collaboration of a number of research groups that address their lines of work in the problems posed by these platforms. The renewal of the network aims to promote the exchange and transfer of knowledge between the groups, consolidating the previously established relationships and promote new, and articulate the efforts to strengthen its international recognition in the field of high performance computing on heterogeneous parallel architectures .

Objectives

The main objectives of the network are the following:

  • Facilitate the exchange and the transfer of knowledges and experiences between the different groups of investigation interested in the CAPAP-H, boosting  the cooperation between them.
  • Help to the consolidation and diffusion of the existent knowledge on CAPAP-H. Boost the development and use of new technics and methodologies that makes possible the CAPAP-H, mainly in those lines in which the participant groups research.
  • Join and organise the individual efforts to treat to identify and reach more ambitious aims, as well as consolidate the community that works in this field so that it increase his specific weight to international level, facing to possess an own identity in the European Space of Investigation.
  • Improve relations between the participant  groups, as well as with other public or private organisations, national or international, to collaborate in the development of publications, projects, conferences and seminars.
